At last: toilet-themed restaurants! All the rage in Japan, you can now enjoy this special dining experience in China.
Customers are seated on porcelain thrones, lids cushioned and closed, while they eat at tables made of bathroom sinks with glass tops. Food is served in dishes that look like either toilet bowls or, um, something that is normally deposited in a toilet bowl. But just because you are dining while seated on a Western toilet, don’t expect to find one when you excuse yourself: their bathrooms are only equipped with squat toilets. Visit Modern Toilet in Shenzhen, or Bian Man Man Wu in Beijing, for a truly unique experience.
Squat toilets can be a real ordeal.
