Photoshop artist @青红造了个白 has created an amusing series of pictures by merging the characters of Game of Thrones with Chinese street vendors.
The HBO flagship is reasonably well known in China, and the original George RR Martin series has been translated into Mandarin. It’s not on a par with the most popular foreign shows, which tend to be sitcoms, but has its dedicated following despite the nonsensically censored version shown on state television. Most fans get their fix from the Internet, where it generally takes a day or less after release (or leak) for versions with Mandarin subtitles to appear online.
The pictures below are just one of many series that the artist has done, merging stars with ordinary surroundings.
Jon Snow selling tanghulu
Daenerys Targaryen sells jianbing
Tyrion Lannister still has a lot on his shoulders
Missandei sells street snacks
Bronn’s got your meat needs covered
Apparently Mormonts can’t pull off pink shirts
This is almost as good as the baijiu company that repurposed GOT’s opening credits to sell its firewater.
